We are the Bowie Womens Lacrosse Association, a local organization dedicated to development of our youth through a positive athletic program at James Bowie High School. Bowie High School has fielded a women's lacrosse team for more than a decade.  The team is made up of players from grades 9th-12th and is a member of the Central Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League (CTGHSLL). Our mission statement: The purpose of Bowie Womens Lacrosse is to promote and encourage academic and athletic excellence in young women as well as to help build their confidence and self-esteem through teamwork and commitment.

While the popularity of lacrosse is growing rapidly, it is not a Texas UIL sport. Therefore, teams receive zero financial assistance from schools or school districts. Individual lacrosse associations are required to cover 100% of their expenses — including uniforms, helmets, coaches salaries, field use, lights, referees, tournament fees, balls, practice equipment and field rental. This places an enormous burden on families, and we rely on community support to help these hard-working girls play this incredible sport that hones athleticism while teaching leadership and teamwork.
