Last season the Bowie Women’s Lacrosse team made it to the city playoffs. Even though they did not win the city championship, the Bowie players made the other teams work hard to win. In the coming year, Bowie is expected to have an outstanding season. All-State players are: Mendy Ancheta, Elissa Lardon, Lizzie Sheftall (alternate), and Lauren Kissock (alternate). All-District players are: Lauren Kissock, Lizzie Sheftall, Kaitlynn Hall, and Kacie Stovall (alternate).
In June, two players, Lizzie Sheftall and Kacie Stovall were selected to play on the Texas National Team and attend a tournament in Pennsylvania. And in July, Lizzie Sheftall, Kacie Stovall, and Jennifer Merritt traveled to California with the Austin LAX Bats, a select Austin team. At the request of a college coach, Kate Casteline participated in a lacrosse camp in Long Island, New York during the month of August. This summer many of our players played in the Austin Women’s Lacrosse League with other high school, collegiate and post-collegiate players.
New Developments -- Alison Brown will be starting as our new coach this fall. She is anxious to get the players in shape for their winning season!
